The Virginia Soccer Alliance is proud to announce new member club Shenandoah Valley United Soccer Club (SVU). SVU offers soccer programming for youth players in Harrisonburg, Rockingham County and the greater Shenandoah Valley.

“We are excited to join the Virginia Soccer Alliance.” said SVU Interim Director Eilidh Thomson. “This opportunity will allow us to continue to grow competitive youth soccer in our community and provide additional opportunities to our soccer players in the form of new valley challenge leagues, summer camps, indoor soccer leagues, and coaching education for all our coaches, to name a few.”

“SVU will continue to operate as a local club, serving our community. We have a new office located in Harrisonburg, and have hired a 3 full time employees to help our goal of creating the best community youth program in the Shenandoah Valley. This is just the beginning of something special in our community.”

The Virginia Soccer Alliance was formed in 2021. It brings together like-minded organizations to provide enhanced local soccer programming and promote long-term growth and stability of member institutions. VSA believes that through collaboration, clubs in small to medium size communities can provide additional soccer opportunities, player pathways, and developmental platforms not possible on their own. The Alliance professionalizes administration for member clubs, aligns programming within the greater organization and promotes well-supported community soccer clubs in Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.
